Eni Signs Gas Cooperation Pact With Japanese Government Agency
By Christian Moess Laursen
Eni signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Japanese government to collaborate on gas and liquefied natural gas to increase diversification of supply sources.
The Italian energy company said Sunday that the pact with the Japan Organization for Metals and Energy Security focuses on promoting the role of gas and LNG in the transition to cleaner energy, highlighting the need to achieve carbon neutrality while ensuring economic growth and energy security.
This includes potential LNG supply deals between Eni and Japan, as well as financial support from Japanese banks to Eni's Coral North project in Mozambique, Eni said.
