United Airlines Plans New DC-to-San Francisco Service
By Stephen Nakrosis
United Airlines said Monday it filed an application to offer a new, daily nonstop flight between San Francisco International Airport and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.
If approved by the Department of Transportation, United's route would provide travelers with connections from San Francisco to over two dozen markets in the western U.S. and seven international destinations, the airline said.
The new service would offer a morning departure from Washington National and an afternoon departure from San Francisco, avoiding the most congested travel times at Ronald Reagan airport, the airline said.
United plans to use the 166-seat Boeing MAX 8 aircraft for the route.
As an alternate, the company also applied for its first-ever flight between Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and Los Angeles International Airport.
