Amazon, Everyone TV Sign Deal to Deliver Free Streaming Platform to U.K. Homes
By Najat Kantouar
Everyone TV said it signed an agreement with tech giant Amazon.com to integrate the streaming platform known as Freely with next-generation smart TVs that rely on the Amazon Fire TV operating system.
Launched in April, Freely is a new streaming platform backed by the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 that lets viewers livestream channels on smart TVs alongside on-demand content for free without needing a dish, the company said.
The platform is expected to be available this fall on Amazon Fire TV smart TVs and other smart TVs with the Fire TV operating system built-in, both online and in store, the company added.
