CGI 3Q Profit, Revenue Rise
By Adriano Marchese
CGI's third-quarter profit rose above expectations thanks to higher revenue in the period.
The Canadian information-technology and software company on Wednesday reported a net income of 440.1 million Canadian dollars ($317.8 million), or C$1.91 a share, above the C$415 million, or C$1.75 a share, reported for the comparable quarter a year ago.
Adjusted earnings were C$1.91 a share, in line with analyst expectations for the period, according to a FactSet poll.
Revenue rose 1.3% to C$3.67 billion, just shy of analyst expectations of C$3.69 billion.
Bookings came in at C$4.68 billion, C$108 million lower than a year earlier, while backlog grew to C$27.56 billion from C$25.63 billion.
