Air Liquide to Invest More than $250 Million, Build Gas Plant for U.S. Semiconductor Industry

By Pierre Bertrand

Air Liquide is to invest more than a quarter billion dollars into building a new industrial gas production facility which will help support the U.S. semiconductor industry.

The French industrial company said it will invest more than $250 million into the facility, which it will build, own and operate to produce ultra-pure nitrogen and other gases.

These gases will be made available for Micron Technology and other customers in the area for the production of memory chips, Air Liquide said.

The plant is expected operational by the end of 2025, the company said.
