Aker Solutions Gets Deal Worth Up To $143 Million For Work on Gas Platform
By Dominic Chopping
Aker Solutions has been awarded a contract worth up to 1.5 billion Norwegian kroner ($142.9 million) from Equinor for work on an offshore gas platform.
The Norwegian energy-industry service provider said Monday the sizeable contract--which it defines as being worth between 500 million and 1.5 billion kroner--will see the company prepare the Troll A platform before it begins receiving and processing gas from eight new wells at the Troll West gas reservoir.
The contract sees Aker Solutions carrying out engineering work on parts of the platform that sit above the waterline.
The Troll field is situated in the North Sea and is Norway's largest gas producer, supplying 10% of Europe's total gas needs.
The scope of Aker Solutions' contract includes engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning for topside modification. The contract will start right away with completion scheduled for the end of 2027.
The contract will be booked as order intake for the third quarter of 2024.
