Trending: Nike CEO Is Retiring

1613 ET -- Nike is one of the most mentioned companies in the U.S. across all news items in the past 12 hours, according to Factiva data. Nike said Chief Executive John Donahoe would be retiring on Oct. 13 after nearly five years leading the athletic shoe, apparel, and gear company. Donahoe will be replaced by company veteran Elliott Hill, who retired in 2020 as its president of consumer and marketplace. Nike stock has struggled in recent years partially from a slowdown in China, and competition from Deckers Outdoor's Hoka brand and On Holding. Dow Jones & Co. owns Factiva.
