U.S. Futures Flat, European Stocks Down

U.S. futures for the S&P 500 were down 0.1% and futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average were flat. Changes in futures do not necessarily predict movements after the opening bell.

In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 fell 0.1% in morning trading. Rexel rose 9.2% and Ipsen added 4.5%. On the other hand, Worldline dropped 4%, and Powszechny Zaklad Ubez lost 3.3%. The FTSE 100 lost 0.1%. Other stocks in Europe were down as France's CAC 40 decreased 0.2% and Germany's DAX dropped 0.3%.

The Wall Street Journal Dollar Index fell 0.4% to 95.71.

In commodities, Brent crude climbed 0.6% to $72.04 a barrel, and WTI crude gained 0.8% to $69.18 a barrel. The European benchmark price for natural gas, the Dutch futures contract TTF, was down 2.3% to EUR34.85 a megawatt hour.

The German 10-year Bund yield was flat at 2.148%, and the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury fell by 2 basis points to 3.642% from 3.657%. Bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.

Stocks in Asia were up. Markets in Japan were closed. Hong Kong's Hang Seng gained 0.1%. Markets in China were closed.
