Shell Moves Up Maintenance at Refinery After Francine Leads to Power Outage — OPIS
Shell on Friday said it will begin planned turnaround work at its 250,000 b/d refinery in Norco, La., earlier than expected after a hydrocracker was shut by a power outage caused by Hurricane Francine.
"During the storm, our Norco hydrocracker shut down due to a brief power outage but did not sustain any damage. We are keeping it shut-in ahead of a routine, planned turnaround, which has now been moved up," the company said.
At the same time, Shell said both its Norco and Geisman chemical plants are in the process of returning to normal operations following Francine's passage.
