Charter Communications 1Q Net Income, Revenue Higher
By Denny Jacob
Charter Communications posted slight increases to its top and bottom line in its latest quarter.
The cable company logged net income of $1.11 billion, or $7.55 a share, for the first quarter, compared with $1.02 billion, or $6.65 a share, a year earlier. Analysts polled by FactSet expected $7.78 a share.
Revenue ticked up $13.68 billion from $13.65 billion. Analysts polled by FactSet expected $13.75 billion.
Charter attributed the slight revenue bump to growth in residential mobile service, residential internet and advertising sales revenues, though partially offset by lower residential video revenue.
Total customers declined 0.6% to about 32 million from 32.2 million.
