Illumina Earnings: 2024 Guidance Looks Slightly Weaker Than We Expected, but No Fair Value Change

After divesting liquid biopsy maker Grail in late June, narrow-moat Illumina announced second-quarter results that looked strong on the bottom line. However, management is aiming for a slightly weaker second half of 2024 than trends suggest and what is built into our models. At first glance, our $188 fair value estimate has not changed materially after slightly changing our near-term view.
