Summit Sustainability Initiatives, From Content to Event Operations

We believe in practicing what we prioritise and have taken special measures to make the Morningstar Sustainable Investing Summit as sustainable as possible. We work with suppliers who share the same values and make every effort to minimise negative impact on the planet.

Review our efforts below.

Sustainability-Friendly Venues

Beurs van Berlage aims to conduct all its activities in a sustainable, socially responsible manner. The venue is certified by Green Globe, a global certification programme for sustainable travel and tourism. Some of their initiatives include:

  • LED lighting.
  • Ecologically responsible cleaning products and hand soap.
  • Organic, local, and sustainable suppliers.
  • Green electricity.

We select hotels with a strong commitment to sustainability. Summit attendees can choose from several partners with environmentally friendly practices.

Recyclable Brand Materials

All branding uses recyclable materials where possible, keeping waste management in mind from beginning to end of the event planning and execution.

Our booth vendor, A-Booth, strives for maximum results with a minimal impact on the planet. Their initiatives include:

  • Reusable materials such as panels, fabrics, stickers, and carpets.
  • Waste prevention by minimising new packaging materials.
  • Safe working conditions for employees.
  • Fully electric and CO2 neutral business premises.
  • Separated and recycled industrial waste.

Long-Term Sustainable Planning

Morningstar will partner with suppliers and vendors who commit to sustainability practices and responsible waste management processes.

From there, we purchased carbon allowances through government-regulated carbon compliance markets to immediately reduce emissions.

This effort addresses the carbon impact of hosting the summit to bring the entire event to carbon neutral in a verifiable, quantifiable way.
