Swiss Stocks Decline Tuesday
Stocks in Switzerland slipped Tuesday, as the Swiss SMI Index fell 0.6% to 12086.31.
Among large companies, Daetwyler Holding AG posted the largest decline, dropping 5.9%, followed by shares of UBS Group AG, which fell 3.2%. Shares of Tecan Group AG fell 3.2%.
Compagnie Financiere Richemont S.A. was the biggest gainer during the session, gaining 2.7%, and Banque Cantonale de Geneve gained 1.4%. Galderma Group AG rounded out the top three movers on Tuesday, as shares gained 1.1%.
In other parts of Europe, indexes fell, with the FTSE 100 Index dropping 0.4% and the STOXX Europe 600 Index dropping 0.2% from the previous close.
On the currency front, the WSJ Dollar Index rose 0.2% to 100.32. Against the dollar, the Swiss franc fell 0.2% to $1.12.
In the bond markets, 10-year U.S. Treasury yields rose 0.02 basis point to 4.255%.
