U.S. Futures Flat, European Stocks Mixed

U.S. futures for the S&P 500 were flat and futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average were flat. Changes in futures do not necessarily predict movements after the opening bell.

In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 was flat in morning trading. Britvic PLC rose 7.4% and argenx added 6.8%. On the other hand, Eurofins Scientific slipped 7.9%, and Zalando sunk 6.4%. The FTSE 100 lost 0.1%. Other stocks in Europe were up as France's CAC 40 increased 0.1% and Germany's DAX climbed 0.2%.

The Wall Street Journal Dollar Index was flat at 100.32.

In commodities, Brent crude was flat at $84.32 a barrel, and WTI crude dropped 0.1% to $80.65 a barrel. The European benchmark price for natural gas, the Dutch futures contract TTF, was down 0.7% to EUR33.71 a megawatt hour.

The German 10-year Bund yield declined by 1 basis point to 2.405% from 2.412%, and the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury declined by 1 basis point to 4.251% from 4.257%. Bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.

Stocks in Asia were mixed as Japan's Nikkei 225 index climbed 0.5%, whereas Hong Kong's Hang Seng declined 0.9%. China's benchmark Shanghai Composite fell 1.2%.
