Berkshire Partners Announces that Sharlyn Musslewhite and Whitney Kelly are Named in GrowthCap's 2024 List: “Top Women Leaders in Growth Investing”
Leaders recognized for their remarkable experience with both colleagues and portfolio company leadership
Berkshire Partners is pleased to announce Managing Director Sharlyn Musslewhite and Principal Whitney Kelly have both been named to GrowthCap’s“Top Women Leaders in Growth Investing” 2024 list. The award recognizes female leaders in private investment, who have demonstrated deep expertise in private investing, portfolio management, firm operations, and business expansion strategy.
Ms. Musslewhite was promoted to Managing Director at Berkshire Partners in 2011 and currently serves as General Counsel, overseeing all legal matters relating to Berkshire’s investment activities and operations. Her legal focus areas include portfolio company acquisitions, dispositions, fund formation, compliance, risk management, responsible investing, litigation management and strategy, and other general corporate matters for the firm. Within Berkshire, Ms. Musslewhite serves as the Co-Chair of the firm’s Responsible Investment Committee. Prior to joining Berkshire in 2006, she was a Corporate Partner at Weil, Gotshal & Manges. Ms. Musslewhite received her B.A. from Cornell University, and her J.D. from Harvard Law School.
After joining Berkshire Partners in 2012 as an Associate, Ms. Kelly returned to the firm as a Principal in 2016 upon completing her M.B.A. at Harvard Business School. She serves as a crucial member of the firm’s private equity healthcare sector team, working to generate proprietary deal flow and create value within the portfolio. Her work within the portfolio includes Precision Medicine Group, PurFoods, Ensemble Health Partners, and IVC Evidensia. A graduate of Williams College, Ms. Kelly was an Analyst at J.P. Morgan prior to joining Berkshire Partners.
