CITs: A Welcome Addition to 403(b) Plans
Recent legislation has been introduced that would allow 403(b) plans to invest in collective investment trusts (CITs). This would provide low-cost options to plans that have been riddled with high-cost options. In this paper, we provide evidence of the low cost and attractiveness of CITs for 403(b) plans and provide regulatory context for our recommended change to the proposed legislation.
