CBRE Earnings: Shares Jump 12% on Improved Outlook and Strong Performance in Outsourcing Business

Narrow-moat-rated CBRE reported blockbuster second-quarter results with improved outlook in all segments and particularly solid performance in its global workplace solutions, or GWS, segment with double-digit organic growth. The prospects of the brokerage business have improved materially as the property sales environment has shown increasing signs of stabilization, but it is still not completely out of the woods yet given our macroeconomic and rate outlook. A soft landing remains a foregone conclusion based on market consensus, but we think that investors shouldn’t completely rule out the possibility of a relatively harder landing.
