Analyst Note

American Century Short Duration Fund comanager Jeff Houston and co-head of the firm’s corporate markets team will relinquish his investment duties on June 30, 2024, and retire on Aug. 15, 2024, according to the firm. Jason Greenblath, who has worked alongside Houston as co-head of the corporate markets team since 2019, will take over that team but is not becoming a named manager on the fund. Instead, Houston’s portfolio management duties will be distributed across the rest of the team. Robert Gahagan, a manager since 2006, will continue to lead the fund alongside co-lead and Global Fixed Income co-CIO Charles Tan. James Platz, a manager since 2007, and Paul Norris, who recently joined the firm in November 2023 as a senior portfolio manager on this strategy, also help manage the fund. With experienced managers and a sufficient supporting cast, the strategy maintains a People rating of Average, while its overall Morningstar Medalist Ratings also remain unchanged.
