It's a stunning property in an historic New York City neighborhood

Film director Steven Soderbergh recently listed his picture-perfect downtown condo in New York City for $9.4 million.

Designed by architect Steven Harris, the condo is actually a maisonette-a separate house within a larger building.

Located in the stylish Tribeca neighborhood, the three-bedroom residence has more than 3,100 square feet of living space, a bamboo-shrouded back patio designed by Rees Roberts, and an elevator.

Stunning, 20-foot windows tower over the main room, with its gas fireplace and curved staircase adorned with a mahogany railing. Those windows showcase the gorgeous garden and patio outside. Oak floors run throughout the home, and most rooms sport 12.5-foot ceilings.

A nearby kitchen is a study in luxury as it boasts custom lighting from Stickbulb, walnut cabinets, marble counters, a Miele dishwasher, double ovens from La Cornue, and double Sub-Zero refrigerators.

Elegant bedrooms and marble-clad baths await upstairs. The primary suite is a true highlight thanks to large closets, a dressing room, and walls covered in Venetian plaster. The main bathroom is its equal, complete with a deep soaking tub, steam shower, two sinks, and heated flooring.

Other amenities include soundproof glass doors, a security system, a 70-foot storage space, and all the perks for residents of the main building, such as 24-hour doormen, a fitness center, and a bicycle room. The director purchased the chic residence back in 2015 for $8.5 million.

Soderbergh debuted in the film world in 1989 with his first indie hit, "Sex, Lies, and Videotape." He's also produced or directed a number of other acclaimed movies, including "Michael Clayton," "Erin Brockovich," "Ocean's Eleven" and "Traffic," for which he won the best director Oscar.
