Heidelberg Materials Extends Cost Savings Target, Earnings Rise

By Adam Whittaker

Heidelberg Materials extended its cost savings target by an extra 300 million euros, equivalent to $335.7 million, while it reported that third-quarter earnings rose on sustained growth in North America.

The German building-materials group on Wednesday said it expects to exceed its 500 million euros of targeted savings by the end of the year and will now seek additional savings of 300 million euros through the end of 2028. Launched in November 2024, the cost savings push is designed to help mitigate inflation and improve margins.

Heidelberg's third-quarter result from current operations before depreciation and amortization--its preferred metric--rose just over 8% on the year prior to 1.62 billion euros. Analysts had expected 1.57 billion euros, according to a company-compiled consensus.

The company kept its full-year outlook unchanged, and sees the result from current operations between 3.40 billion and 3.65 billion euros.
