U.S. Futures, European Stocks Fall

U.S. futures for the S&P 500 were down 0.2% and futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average decreased 0.3%. Changes in futures do not necessarily predict movements after the opening bell.

In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 dropped 0.1% in morning trading. Rightmove added 3.8% and Elia Group rose 2%. On the other hand, Edenred sunk 5.8%, and Hugo Boss lost 4.2%. The FTSE 100 lost 0.1%. Other stocks in Europe were down as France's CAC 40 declined 0.5% and Germany's DAX fell 0.1%.

The Wall Street Journal Dollar Index climbed 0.2% to 96.07.

In commodities, Brent crude dropped 0.3% to $74.25 a barrel, and WTI crude dropped 0.3% to $70.78 a barrel. The European benchmark price for natural gas, the Dutch futures contract TTF, was up 1.4% to 34.92 euros a megawatt hour.

The German 10-year Bund yield declined by 3 basis points to 2.177% from 2.211%, and the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury was flat at 3.748%. Bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.

Stocks in Asia were mixed. Markets in Japan were closed. Hong Kong's Hang Seng declined 0.1%. China's benchmark Shanghai Composite gained 0.4%.
