Sun Life U.S. Expands Coverage to Include Family Planning, Behavioral Health
By Connor Hart
Sun Life U.S. has expanded its critical illness coverage to include a broader range of health conditions and diseases, including family planning care and behavioral health.
The financial services provider's family care benefit will cover treatments such as in vitro fertilization and alternative approaches, like adoption, it said. The benefit will also cover medical issues related to childbirth, including complications during pregnancy and newborn complications.
The company's mental health benefit includes access to AbleTo SelfCare, a virtual platform with digital tools to help reduce stress and anxiety, and the Health Navigator Help Line, which provides access to personal care advisers who can help find physicians for particular conditions.
