Audi Cancels Some Production Shifts Due to Flooding in Germany — Update
By David Sachs
Audi cut some shifts at a plant Monday as floods raged in southern Germany, but they will return to normal Tuesday.
The Volkswagen-owned luxury carmaker said it canceled Monday's early and late shifts for the A3 and Q2 models at its Ingolstadt factory as a precaution during flooding in the region that made commuting dangerous. Some employees worked remotely if their tasks allowed it, a spokeswoman said.
The factory itself isn't affected by the floods, the spokeswoman said. Shifts will return to normal after Monday's night shift, the spokeswoman added.
