Fund analyst reports

Every fund quote page contains a fund analyst report, or a series of evaluations that are visible exclusively to Morningstar Investor subscribers.

These evaluations follow our five key pillars:

• Process: Our assessment of how sensible, clearly defined, and repeatable a fund's performance objective and investment process is for both security selection and portfolio construction.
• People: Our evaluation of the fund management team’s experience and ability. We find that high-quality management teams deliver superior performance relative to their benchmarks and/or peers.
• Parent: Our rating of a fund's parent organization’s priorities and whether they’re in line with investors’ interests.
• Performance: Our opinion of the fund's performance under the current manager, which can tell us whether they have added value. The longer the record, the more predictive it is of future relative performance. 
• Price: Our assessment of a fund's expenses relative ot its peer group and sales channel, as well as of a fund's costs in the context of its strategy.
