Stock Intersection

Similar to Morningstar Investor's X-Ray tool, Morningstar Stock Intersection is of particular value when reviewing portfolios that include mutual funds or ETFs.

Choose Stock Intersection from the top navigation of an individual portfolio, and you'll see a table of the top 50 stocks concentrated within it. The table will identify possible areas of overlap or over-concentration, helping you understand whether it might be time to diversify.

In this example, you can see that Microsoft makes up 10.10% of the overall portfolio, based on the contributions of eight funds: VTI, VFINX, IYW, AMBFX, QQQ, VIG, CAIFX and NFFFX.
