Europe leads the world in renewable energy adoption, but headwinds are forming that could impede further progress, risking its recently increased target of renewable energy comprising 42.5% of total energy demand by 2030. Currently, renewable energy supplies about 20% of total energy demand, meaning, its updated target is already ambitious. However, several of the tailwinds that propelled it to its current level in the past decade are shifting and becoming headwinds. Morningstar's latest report assesses the ability of the European renewables industry to navigate these challenges, highlighting those particularly impacted and those well positioned to withstand such issues.
