TC Energy Names Sean O'Donnell to Succeed CFO Joel Hunter
By Robb M. Stewart
TC Energy is promoting Sean O'Donnell to succeed Joel Hunter as finance chief of the oil and gas pipeline operator.
O'Donnell, currently senior vice president of capital markets and corporate planning, will take on the role of executive vice president and chief financial officer effective May 15, the Canadian company said Wednesday.
The company said Hunter, who is leaving to pursue another opportunity in the energy industry, will remain until July 1 to support efforts including the planned spinoff of South Bow, the new company that will house TC Energy's liquids pipelines business.
O'Donnell joined the company in November to lead the finance, corporate planning and evaluations functions within the CFO group. Before that, he spent 13 years at energy-focused private equity firm Quantum Capital, including serving as an operating partner and CFO of Quantum's first U.S. independent power company and of the firm's liquefied natural gas export facility in Mexico.
TC Energy, which late last year appointed long-standing board member John Lowe as chairman, last July unveiled plans to split into two businesses, TC Energy that will focus on natural gas and energy and South Bow. The decision followed a two year strategic review.
